What are Vulture's Ack Ack Targetting Maps? For each arena I fly in I create (as time allows) my own maps. These will usually include:
- Arena maps - a map of the entire arena showing the grid lines and the positions of airfields and strategic targets.
- Data sheets - a list of all airfields or strategic targets, the data sheets show things like grid references, runway headings, ack run in headings and field type.
- Airfield Ack maps - a close up map of each airfield showing orientation and exact ack positions.
- Strategic Target Ack maps - a close up map of each strategic target showing orientation and exact ack positions.
- Decoy maps - decoys are Taskforces, Convoys and Shipyards that appear in New Pac, but have no name and no strategic significance. The Taskforces and Convoys act as country affiliated ack platforms but do not show up using the /*f (nearest field) command.
What should you do with them?
- All of the files are in self extracting zips. Just click where indicated to download the file to your hard drive. Once this is done double click on the file on your hard drive to unzip it to your default temp folder, or any other folder you nominate.
- The arena maps can be printed out using any standard graphics programme.
- All the data to go with the maps is in an MS Office Excel spreadsheet, for those without MS Office it is duplicated either in a text file or as an html page.
- Airfield, Strategic target and Decoy Ack maps are all A4 gif files, they can be printed out using any standard graphics programme.

New Big Pac Arena Map.
The New Big Pac arena, which is based on the New Pac terrain. This map will not print onto one sheet of A4 paper. For a hard copy use Paint. Paint is a graphics programme that comes with windows. It is launched with the file mspaint.exe If a graphic doesn't fit onto one sheet of A4 then Paint will spread the image over several pages and you can join them together afterwards. Paint will only accept bitmap files, so load the map into Paint Shop Pro or similar and save it as a Windows OS/2 Bitmap. You can then view this file in Paint and print it off.

New Big Pac Airfield Ack Ack targeting maps.
In this terrain every single airfield has a different layout so it is impossible to use a generic graphic, which is why the maps use so many pages. Prints off to 32 colour or b&w pages, (the colours have been adjusted to show up well in b&w).
