Air Warrior Custom Detail Setup

Custom Detail Setup Graphic The Custom Detail shown here is equal to the High Detail Setting in View Mode Customization. As you switch to Medium and Low Detail Setting the amount of detail shown (the amount of ticks) is reduced, which improves frame rate. Under Custom Detail Setup you can select detail options individually.
The first and most important thing to note here is that 'Local Hits' should always be 'OFF', that means no tick in the local hits box. Local Hits are the hits on enemy aircraft seen by your front end and shown to you as bits flying off. They are not necessarily hits seen by the host computer and therefore may make you think you are hitting the enemy when you are not. Local Hits do however show that you are firing on target. It is universally accepted that they should be off.
Some of the detail you may want to switch off without any real drop in playability includes: Plane Shadows (the shadow cast by your aircraft), Terrain Object Textures (texture on buildings etc), Farm Textures (scattered scenery), and Terrain Shadows (shadows cast by buildings etc). Experimentation is the key here.
The other things to note here concerns the use of SAC. 'Plane Textures' must be ticked to allow you to see the plane art loaded by SAC. Ground/water Texture must be ticked to allow you to see the terrain art loaded by SAC.

NB: The number of Custom Detail options available to you can change depending on the type of graphics and 3D card you have installed.
